How to Earn Points

Top 16. Players earn points by placing in the top 16 the same way as a Sanctioned WPTAPL™ League would.  Tournaments with over 32 players receive bonus points.

*NEW* Show the TD your tab. Now players can earn points when they patronize the venue! For the first $10 a player spends they earn 10x the points per dollar.  After the first $10 they earn 1 point per dollars spent.  Players must spend at least $5 on the venue to qualify.  Example: $15=105pts, $9=90pts, $4=0pts.  Players must show receipt to Tournament Director that day in order to qualify.

High Hand. High hand of the night (both sessions) gets 100 points.  Must be Aces full or better.  Must use both hole cards to count.  Hand must be shown and verified by the Tournament Director.

    Recruit Players. Players who bring in new players get 100 points.  Must be a new player to King City Poker.  Somebody who does not have an account in the King City Poker database. 

      Win both tournaments.  If a player wins both sessions (1st place), they win an additional 100 points.

        *NEW*Show text messages.   If you receive text messages from King City Poker, follow the directions and receive points!  In order to receive text messages you must fill out a registration form at a live event or e-mail nickveal@kingcitypoker.com and ask to receive text messages.

        Bad Beat. Players can win points by being at a table when a ‘bad beat’ occurs.  The bad beat ‘pot’ is 2000 points.  The person that receives that bad beat (loses the hand) wins half (1000 points).  The person who gave the bad beat (wins the hand) wins 1/4th (500 points).  The rest of the players at the table split the remaining 500 points.  Both players must use both hole cards.  The losing hand must be Aces full or better.  Hands must be shown and verified by the Tournament Director.
